Divine Connections: Finding God’s Purpose in Every Season

Have you ever stopped to think about how God connects people in the most unique and intentional ways?

I’ve often reflected on how we are placed in a specific time, in a certain place, surrounded by particular circumstances that somehow align our hearts with someone else’s. Even the trials and storms we face aren’t just meant to disrupt or hurt us—they can serve a greater purpose. They can align us with the will of the Lord and draw us closer to others who need what we’ve been through.

Maybe our purpose is to walk alongside someone who is suffering in a way we once did. Maybe it’s to unite together, becoming stronger for the work of God’s kingdom.

We’re living in a time where there is so much hurt, so much noise, and so much division. My husband often listens to the news on his long drives to and from work. It’s filled with politics, debates, and constant updates about what’s going wrong in the world. I’ve told him before, “I don’t know how you listen to that.” To me, it feels like filling your mind with negativity—and if I’m being honest, it brings me anxiety.

I don’t like watching the news or listening to it. While I understand the importance of being aware of what’s happening in the world, I think about it a little differently. Maybe I’m more naïve in some ways, but I choose to rest in the truth that God already has it handled. He calls us to be aware, yes—but not consumed.

God protects us. He equips us. And He already has every detail worked out down to the very last piece.

So why do we spend so much time listening to people argue? Why do we let opinions, debates, and constant negativity take up space in our hearts and minds? Social media is no different—it’s filled with endless arguments and frustrations. And so often, it feels pointless.

If God has already worked it out… if He is connecting each of us for a greater purpose… then we can trust that it will come together.

I’ll admit—I like to know what’s coming. I like to feel prepared. And God knows that about me. He knows each of us so personally—our fears, our tendencies, our needs. Some people need more reassurance than others, and I’m one of those people. And in His grace, He provides that reassurance to me—through His Word, through devotionals, through people, and through the smallest, most unexpected moments.

It amazes me how God can take even the tiniest detail and weave it into something meaningful for His purpose.

So let me ask you this:
What connection might you be missing?

God is constantly placing opportunities, people, and moments in our lives—but if we aren’t close to Him, if we aren’t spending time in His Word, we can miss them. And that missed connection could have the power to change everything.

I’ve also thought about those in the public eye—people with large platforms who boldly share their faith. Their transparency is powerful, but it also makes them vulnerable. They are often attacked, criticized, and misunderstood. Yet God continues to use them, protect them, and position them exactly where they need to be.

And the truth is—He’s doing the same thing for each of us.

We may not have a platform like theirs, but we all have influence. We all have a purpose. And what if we leaned into that more? What if we spent more time growing closer to God, studying His Word, and truly listening for His direction?

What if, as Christians, we all reached that level of closeness with Him?

Imagine the impact.

Those connections matter.
Your connection matters.

So this week, take a moment to reflect. What are you feeding your mind and your heart? Are you adding to the noise and negativity, or are you choosing to be a light?

How can you make a positive impact—not for recognition, but so that God can be seen? So that He receives the glory, and others receive the help they need?

Even in your trials.
Even in your storms.
Even in the ordinary, everyday moments.

God is working.
He is connecting.
He is calling.

Don’t miss it.
